When you click a send email button, it opens a generated email with your default email client for mailto links.

By setting Gmail as your default email client for mailto links, it will open in Gmail.

How to Set Up Google Chrome to Use Gmail as the Default Email Client

  1. Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://settings/handlers.

  2. Ensure the option Allow sites to ask to become default handlers for protocols is enabled. If Gmail is in the list of unallowed sites, remove it.

  3. Open Gmail in Chrome. Click on the handler icon in the address bar (it looks like two overlapping diamonds) and select Allow to set Gmail as the default handler for mailto links.
